Siemens Releases Annual Report on Integrity Initiatives for 2013

International - Friday, June 6, 2014

Thirty projects on business integrity in more than 20 countries were implemented with funding from the Siemens Integrity Initiative last year, amounting to more than USD 25 million. These projects, focusing on information and training on compliance and anti-corruption measures for the private sector are showcased in the recently launched Siemens Integrity Initiative Annual Report for 2013. The aim of these projects is to help address the high demand from the private sector on compliance and anti-corruption, and contribute to changing rules, policy and behavior for clean business and fair market conditions. UNDP’s Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in the Arab Countries (UNDP-ACIAC) is one of the partners of the Siemens Integrity Initiative (SII). In 2012-2013, this partnership has helped to achieve a number of key results including the establishment of the Doha Working Group. The Group brings together leading experts from the Arab region and the world on business integrity and anti-corruption, as well as representatives of businesses, civil society, anti-corruption agencies, universities, and training institutes in the Arab region. It successfully developed two region-specific training/educational courses on anti-corruption in business transactions. The partnership with SII also helped to foster inclusive dialogue and knowledge sharing on business integrity in the Arab region among governments, businesses, and civil society, enhancing the capacities of non-governmental practitioners to contribute to related reform efforts. The Siemens Integrity Initiative was launched in 2009 as part of the World Bank-Siemens AG comprehensive settlement to support organizations and projects that fight corruption and fraud through collective action, education and training.UNDP-ACIAC was announced in October 2010, with implementation starting in June 2011 and expected to conclude in 2014. Plans are underway to prepare and launch the second phase of ACIAC.Siemens Annual Report on Integrity Initiatives for 2013 Source: Siemens
