Article Written by Mr. Mohamed Moncef El Marzouki, President of the Republic of Tunisia on Anti-Corruption in Tunisia

Tunisia - Tuesday, April 9, 2013

In a unique initiative, the President of the Tunisian Republic published an article focusing on anti-corruption, in which he addresses the phenomenon and discusses mechanisms to combat it, focusing on 5 pillars: (1) political will; (2) the Supreme Independent Council on Anti-Corruption; (3) transparency laws and a specialized justice; (4) technical expertise and (5) civil society. The close cooperation between the Office of the Presidency of the Republic and UNDP’s Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in the Arab Countries on related initiatives is noteworthy, such as the ongoing cooperation for the development of a law against illicit enrichment in Tunisia.
