Specialized session "Tackling corruption risks in the water sector in Tunisia"

Organized by: UNDP-ACIAC, in cooperation with the General Administration of Governance and Prevention of Corruption in the Government of Tunisia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, and the governance units in the water sector

As part of its Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in Arab Countries (ACIAC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized a specialized session on “Tackling Corruption Risks in the Water Sector” in Tunis on 10 March 2022.

The session was attended by representatives of the General Administration of Governance and Prevention of Corruption in the Government of Tunisia, representatives of the governance units in the water sector, and representatives of concerned public administrations and institutions, in addition to specialized experts in the field. During the session, participants were introduced to UNDP’s Sectoral Corruption Risk Management Methodology (SCRM), and the good practices and lessons learned from its application, especially in the framework of the previous cooperation between Tunisia and UNDP in managing corruption risks in the health sector. This discussion was followed by a dialogue on the risks of corruption in the water sector and ways to tackle these risks, in addition to conducting practical exercises in small working groups to deepen the knowledge and skills gained during the session.
