First workshop for University Students in Jordan on "International Anti-Corruption Standards and Their Application in Jordan"

Amman, Jordan , 8/9/2017 - 8/9/2017

Organized by: UNDP-ACIAC in partnership with Jordan Transparency Center

The workshop was organized in partnership with the Jordanian Transparency Center (JTC), which has set up the “Transparency Knights”, as a group of young men and women consisting of recent university students and graduates. The workshop developed the group’s skills on international anti-corruption standards and their application in Jordan. The project supported participants in researching and preparing presentations on related topics such as the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), it’s review mechanism, the related efforts in Jordan, the Jordanian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) and the national anti-corruption strategy. The findings were presented and discussed in the workshop and the participants were able to comment and discuss their content, format and delivery. A judging panel of three experts selected and awarded the best presentation. This activity is being organized in the framework of the “Universities Against Corruption” initiative, which aims to transform universities into sustainable platforms for raising the awareness and promoting the constructive engagement of university students against corruption across the Arab region focusing on Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia and Morocco.
