Organized by: Jordanian Anti-Corruption Commission in cooperation with the University of Jordan and with the support of UNDP

Under the slogan “Jordan’s Youth against Corruption”, the Jordanian Anti-Corruption Commission commemorated International Anti-Corruption Day on 9 December 2015, in cooperation with the University of Jordan and with the support of UNDP. More than 800 students, government officials, activists from civil society and representatives from the organizing institutions participated. The commemoration was preceded by a competition for the students of the University of Jordan that aimed at enabling them to develop innovative messages dealing with corruption in their communities and how to fight it, based on an orientation seminar that was held. The event included a presentation of the messages that were developed in addition to other activities prepared for and presented by a group of students including recital of the Holy Quran, poetry and theatre. The commemoration concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants in the competition and the announcement of the names of the winners. The event is considered a leading initiative that can be built on in the future to enhance youth participation in anti-corruption efforts. It is part of the global campaign against corruption, organised by UNDP and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), under the slogan “Break the Corruption Chain”.
