Regional Workshop: Towards Disseminating the “Acting against Corruption” Training Course for SMEs in the Arab countries

Casablanca, Morocco, 11/15/2014 - 11/17/2014

Organized by: UNDP-ACIAC

UNDP-ACIAC organized a regional workshop in Casablanca on 15-17 November 2014 on disseminating the “Acting against Corruption” training course for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Arab countries. Participants included trainers who have helped to pilot the course in the first half of 2014 as well as independent experts and representatives of partner business organizations, namely the Arab Institute of Business Managers in Tunisia, the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco, and the Egyptian Junior Business Association. Participant worked through interactive sessions to reinforce their knowledge and ownership of the training materials and strengthen their preparation and delivery skills, while also formulating recommendations for the roll out of the course in the future. The course has been developed with the support of UNDP-ACIAC in collaboration with representatives of the business community in the Arab region and independent experts and in partnership with the Siemens Integrity Initiative. It includes training materials specifically designed for owners and executives of SMEs in the Arab countries with the aim of raising their awareness on their role against corruption and enhancing their engagement in related efforts. The course has been piloted in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia earlier this year, organized in partnership with partner organizations mentioned above.
