Experts Meeting to Follow up on the Compliance of Tunisian laws with the UNCAC

An experts meeting was held in Beirut on 2-5 June 2014 in cooperation between the Ministry of State in charge of Governance and Public Function and UNDP's Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in the Arab Countries. Based on the results of the first meeting held in Gammarth on 20-23 May 2014, the meeting aimed namely to develop a draft law relating to assets disclosure and another relating to illicit enrichment, in accordance with the national context and in line with international standards, especially the United Nations Convention against Corruption. In addition to UNDP experts, participants to the meeting included members of the steering committee for developing Tunisian laws related to governance and anti-corruption, established by the mentioned Ministry of State, and including representatives of the latter as well as the Ministry of Justice, Human Rights and Transitional Justice, the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the Court of Accounts, the Committee of General Control for Public Services and the Services of the Counselor for Law and Legislation of the Government.
