Experts Meeting on Lebanon’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy

Organized by: Lebanon’s Technical Anti-Corruption Committee with the support of UNDP-ACIAC

Headed by the Minister of State for Administrative Reform, Lebanon’s Technical Anti-Corruption Committee convened in Beirut on 15 May 2014. The meeting aimed to discuss progress achieved in the development and implementation of a national anti-corruption strategy based on the proposals identified by the Committee in November 2013. The meeting results helped identify related next steps, and namely: (1) continuing the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption; (2) drafting the national anti-corruption strategy document and its action plans in accordance with international standards and good practices; and (3) adopting specific short-term measures to prevent and fight corruption. Participants to the meeting which is supported by UNDP’s Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in the Arab Countries (UNDP-ACIAC), also included regional and international experts.
