Regional Focus Group Meeting on Developing the Course on "Anti-Corruption in Business Transactions" for SMEs in the Arab Region

Regional Focus Group Meeting on Developing the Training Materials on "Anti-Corruption in Business Transactions" for SMEs in the Arab Region

Beirut, Republic of Lebanon, 7/4/2013 - 7/4/2013

Organized by: UNDP-ACIAC

UNDP’s Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in the Arab Countries hosted the third regional focus group meeting on 4 July 2013 in Beirut. The meeting falls within the framework of current efforts to integrate anti-corruption issues in various training and educational programmes in the Arab region and aims to progress the work on establishing a training course specific to anti-corruption in business transactions for owners, managers and compliance officers within small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Since the group’s last meeting, business associations and entities that could deploy and pilot the course have been identified and a draft outline for the course has been developed. This meeting thus discussed and adopted the different sections of the outline as well as shared insights on the practical aspects of the implementation of the course. Participants included representatives of companies and business associations involved in this initiative as well as prominent regional and international experts.
