National training session on the role of Palestinian civil society in the activation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the monitoring of its implementation

UNDP’s Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in the Arab Countries organized in cooperation with Transparency Palestine, a national training session for the Palestinian civil society entitled "The role of the Palestinian civil society in activating the United Nations Convention against Corruption and monitoring its implementation", in Amman (Jordan) on 21-22 December 2012. This Session introduced participants to the requirements of the implementation of the Convention, and discussed the role of civil society in its activation, as well as got acquainted with relevant comparative experiences from the region and the world. The session also strengthened the capacity of the participants to use the self-assessment checklist of the Convention, in order to facilitate their effective participation in the international Review Mechanism for the implementation of the Convention, which was adopted in 2009.
