Strengthening Integrity in the Private Sector in Morocco: What roles for the government, companies and civil society in promoting transparency in the business sector?

The Moroccan Ministry of General Affairs and Governance and the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc organized, with the support of UNDP-ACIAC and the MENA-OECD Investment Programme a national roundtable on “Strengthening Integrity in the Private Sector in Morocco” in Casablanca on 24 October 2012. The roundtable provided an inclusive platform for discussion on the concept of private sector transparency within the broader context of integrity and the prevention of corruption in the private sector in Morocco. Participants included government officials working on private sector regulations, businesses and relevant civil society organizations. This roundtable was the first of a series of roundtables in different Arab countries on enhancing private sector transparency as per national challenges and priorities. The roundtables will be concluded by a regional workshop taking stock of progress achieved and defining the way forward in terms of action plans/points to be implemented by each participating country.
