National Seminar for the Implementation of the UNCAC in Tunis in Light of Comparative Experiences

UNDP-ACIAC organized a National Seminar for the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) in Tunis in Light of Comparative Experiences on 25 September 2012, in collaboration with the UNDP Country Office in Tunisia. The Seminar presented the Convention and discussed its requirements and implementation efforts conducted in the Arab Region and Tunisia. It also presented the Review Mechanism of the application of the Convention and discussed standards, best practices and lessons learned in the areas of prevention, criminalization, law enforcement and asset recovery within the framework of the Convention. Participants included ministers, senior officials of supervisory bodies, high-level representatives of official bodies, representatives of civil society organizations as well as the National Team in charge of preparing the UNCAC Self-Assessment Report. The seminar was part of a series of activities UNDP-ACIAC organized in Tunis to enable stakeholders to participate in the Review Mechanism in an effective manner and enhance national efforts to strengthen integrity and the fight against corruption.
