Regional Workshop on “Strenghtening Integrity in the Private Sector in Arab Countries”

Organized by: MENA-OECD Investment Programme, UNDP Bahrain, and UNDP’s Programme on Governance in the Arab Region.

The regional workshop on “Strengthening Integrity in the Private Sector in Arab Countries” was attended by representatives of the public sector, the private sector and civil society from Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, in addition to the Chair of the Arab Anti-Corruption & Integrity Network (ACINET), representatives of various regional and international organizations and specialists from OECD countries.The workshop provided an interactive forum to exchange ideas and experiences and to discuss the most important challenges facing the work of the private sector. They reviewed the means to face these challenges in light of good practices and international standards and instruments. Participants addressed ways to enhance regional cooperation and exchange in this area, and adopted a set of conclusions that will be supported by UNDP and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development OECD in collaboration with ACINET and other regional stakeholders such as the MENA Responsible Business Conduct Forum.
